Introduction

Indian Society for the Advancement of Canine Practice registered under the Societies Act 21, 1860, represents professionals, researchers and students all over World engaged in the field of Canine Practice “Veterinary Science” (Related to Dogs and Cats). Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice, purely a Scientific Body of Veterinary Science i.e. Technical Association of Scientists, Academicians and Practitioners involved in Veterinary Science (Research & Development) related to Pet Animals (Dogs and Cats) and are mostly from Government Institutes, Veterinary Universities & Colleges, Indian Army (Remount Veterinary Core), National Rapid Response Force (NDRF), Border Security Force (B.S.F.), Indo Tibet Border Fore (I.T.B.P.), Seema Suraksha Bal (S.S.B.) and other Institutions of Country. The Society is involved for the Scientific Deliberations to disseminate the Advanced Technologies for National Development. Members of the society upholds the activities and reputation of the society with an aim to serve humanity and animal welfare specially Canines & Felines.It is an Voluntary Organization i.e. it’s all the Office Bearers are rendering Voluntary and Honorary Services for it. It is not a Commercial Body or Business Organization.

The Society provides a common platform for the mutual exchange of knowledge and views. It have a voice of dedicated Veterinarians to tackle various problems relating to Canine Practice. Over and above, the Society speaks the collective knowledge of its members by conducting Seminars, Symposia and Conferences (International/ Asian/SAARC Countries/ National Congress). 1. News Letters Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice a quarterly publication is an official organ of the society and also registered with R.N.I., Govt. of India. The aim of newsletter is to abreast the activities of the Society to its members and also the awareness of the members.
2. Indian Journal of Canine Practice (NAAS Rated) and Blind Peer Reviewed Rapid Journal (Open Access) biannual publication (Two Issues - June and December Issue) is an official organ of the Society. The aim of the journal is to publish original research papers, critical reviews, and clinical papers. The other attractive facets of the journal are to maintain its periodicity, rapid publication and a high level of standard satisfying both contributors and readers. Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice (ISACP), was created in 2002, though in its blossoming stage, is presently the highest National Forum representing Veterinarians from all over the World devoted to Canine Practice, Education and Research. At present the Society has got about 3,500 Life Members (Including about 500 Life Members from Abroad) .Veterinarians from different foreign countries like U.S.A., Russia, U.K., France, Germany, Netherland, China, Japan, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Slovak Republic, Mexico, Romania, Taiwan, South Korea, Philippines, Israel, Singapore, Thailand, Iran, Iraq, Egypt, U.A.E., Turkey, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangla Desh and Pakistan have also joined as members of the society. This shows a keen interest of foreign Vets in the activities of Indian Society for Advancement of Canine Practice. This has proven the reputation of ISACP at International Platform. The objective of ISACP is to advance Canine Practice through enhancement of knowledge and skill of Veterinarians so that they can remain on the “Cutting edge” of their profession and continue to provide a quality service to their clients. The need for practitioners to obtain relevant information and skill is one of the primary concerns of ISACP. To address this, the society encourages exchange of knowledge by making accessible through personal presentations and discussions at meeting and seminars. ISACP organized its Inaugural Congress at Hotel Taj Residency Lucknow in April, 2004. Second Convention and International Congress of Canine Practice at Hotel Hyatt Regency, New Delhi in February, 2005. Third Convention alongwith the National Congress of Canine Practice, was organized by Orissa University of Agriculture & Technology, Bhubaneswar & ISACP at Hotel Swasti Plaza, Bhubaneswar in February, 2006. Fourth Convention and the Asian Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University, Nagpur & ISACP at Hotel Centre Point, Nagpur in February, 2007. Fifth Convention and the SAARC Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Tamil Nadu University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Chennai & ISACP at Hotel Breez, Chennai in February, 2008. Sixth Convention and National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by West Bengal University of Animal & Fishery Sciences, Kolkata & ISACP at Hotel Hindustan International, Kolkata in February, 2009. The Seventh Convention and National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University, Bangalore & ISACP at The Atria Hotel, Bangalore in January, 2010. The Eighth Convention and National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Shere Kashmir University of Agriculture Science & Technology, Jammu & ISACP at Hotel Asia, Jammu Tawi, Jammu in February, 2011. The Ninth Convention and International Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, Bikaner & ISACP at Hotel Lal Garh Palace, Bikaner in February, 2012. The Tenth Convention and National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by ISACP at Hotel Manvin’s, Panaji, Goa in February, 2013. The Eleventh Convention and National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Bihar Veterinary College, Patna & ISACP at Hotel Maurya, Patna in February, 2014. The Twelfth Convention and National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by ISACP at Hotel Kanha Shyam, Allahabad in June, 2015. The Thirteenth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Kerala Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, & ISACP at University auditorium, Pookode (Waynad), Kerala in April, 2016. The Fourteenth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar (Udhamsingh Nagar) & ISACP, in February, 2017. Fifteenth Convention along with the International Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Srivenkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati (A.P.) & ISACP at Vijayawada in February, 2018. Sixteenth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Khalsa Veterinary College Amritsar (Punjab) & ISACP at College Auditorium in February, 2019. Seventeenth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Veterinary College, Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University, Jabalpur (M.P.) & ISACP in January, 2020. Eighteenth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by Veterinary College, Navania, Rajasthan University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences & ISACP at M.P.U.A.T., Udaipur (Rajasthan) in September, 2022. Nineteenth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice was organized by, Dau Shri Vasudev Chandrakar Kamdhenu Vishwavidyalaya, Anjora, Durg (Chattis Garh) & ISACP in April, 2023. Twentieth Convention along with the National Congress on Canine Practice will be organized by Shere Kashmir University of Agriculture & Technology – Kashmir, at Srinagar (J&K) & ISACP in April, 2024. The Society has risen to such a great International Status in a limited span of time i.e. within the 21years of its inception.
